VILLA CORTONA is a detached (stand alone) property sitting within a high stone walled garden of 500 square meters/ 5400 square feet. A totally unique villa in a totally unique situation. The owners have lovingly restored the villa over three years, creating a blissfully peaceful atmosphere conducive to rest & relaxation and honestly restoring the original features of this ancient house. Every room is individually furnished with a mix of antique and modern furniture with classic and contemporary art. This villa is a home & you feel it immediately.
This is a villa that can be rented year round. In winter months the fire burns brightly in the huge original stone fireplace, with the subtle aromas of olive & apple woods. In summer the soft hues of the hand mixed natural tinted paint used to wash the walls reflects the soft Tuscan colors of the natural landscape. Visit the market in the morning and shop for the evening's dinner, take in a theater event in the evening and in between relax. Choose a book from the bookcase, climb the old stone staircase for siesta in one of the luxuriously appointed bedrooms or recline in one of the five shaded seating areas within the gardens.

ACCOMMODATIONS
GROUND FLOOR
Enter from a small street where you will find on street parking, into the small foyer. A hallway leads to the twin bedroom and further on is the eat in kitchen. On one side of the kitchen is a guests bathroom, a cozy sitting area around a fireplace and a hallway leading out to the garden. On the other side a large living area is a sofa centered around a wall of books and a large screen TV. behind the sofa is a large dining room table. On each end of the room are large doors opening up to the gardens. A staircase takes you to the other two bedrooms
FIRST FLOOR
The staircase takes you upstairs, to a king bedroom with dressing table and built in closets that lead to an en suite bath with shower. Another King bedroom with bath with shower is adjacent, with a door that can be closed to make it an en suite bathroom
At the end of the hallway is a small room with direct access to the upper terrace with tables and chairs and steps and gate leading to the garden. Also in this room is the third full bathroom, this one with tub and reached by a staircase of 8 steps. Once inside the bath, there is another set of steps to reach the bathtub.
THE GARDENS
Lovely small garden with lots of little areas to rest and rejuvenate, The garden is reached from the ground floor, or from the first floor terrace. The upper terrace has a lovely view over the gardens and walls that surround the villa. Amid the gardens is a secret little alcove with an ancient stone table offering you privacy from your neighbors.
The garden is truly peaceful with the scents from the abundant Roses, Jasmine, Agapanthus, Oleander & Lavender grown on the property. If you're lucky you may see a hoopoo in the Almond tree or catch a squadron of swallows circling above. Within these walls it is easy to forget the outside world, yet you are just a 10 minute walk to our favorite Cortina restaurant, Osteria del Teatro in the center of town.
A brick BBQ will allow you to organize your summer barbecues tasting the famous Chianina beef and the best local wines. After dinner take a stroll into the heart of town for an ice cream or just sit in the town hall steps and people watch before retiring for the night.

NOTES
While it seems at times you are in the countryside, you are in the city of Cortona and will hear the typical noises you expect from a city - such as voices of your neighbors, people walking past, children playing outside. The side terrace looks down onto other houses, typical of living in the city.
Parking is on street, being in the city there will be smaller than normal roads to reach the house. You can also opt to park outside the city walls and walk to the house.
