Villa Contenta has beautiful grounds and unbelievable views of the Siena countryside.
While the town is quite intimate, it has all the necessities you need to settle in for a long stay, including a coffee bar, two truffle and wine bars, a pharmacy, post office, supermarket, bank and characteristic shops such as a butcher and a baker, a gourmet restaurant along with weekly markets and a Tartuffo museum. A recent article in THE NEW YORK TIMES featured this town and museum which now brings tourists to this sleepy town, but your house is on a quiet street and once you open the gate to house, you find the quiet and peacefulness of a country home.
There are many things to do in this area. Explore the small villages of Montisi, Asciano, Pienza, Montalcino, Montepulciano, San Quirico d'Orcia, Buonconvento, Bagno Vignoni or take easy day trips to Siena, Lake Trasimeno, Assisi, Perugia, Florence, San Gimignano, Bormarzo, Mount Amiata or the Maremma.
This large and spacious villa dates back to the 15th century and sits opposite an ancient castle that now has one of the best restaurants in the area. A large sunny terrace and expansive garden overlook the spectacular Tuscan countryside. Situated on a hilltop with views of the Asso River and sweeping landscapes, the villa was originally built as a 15th century palace and was at one time owned by the Bishop of Pienza and members of the noble Sienese family, Montepulciano. ACCOMMODATIONS

Ground Floor
Enter the house through a beautiful formal 19th century garden. The foyer leads to two living rooms and two dining rooms, one of which leads out to a large sunny terrace which expands your living space with a large dining table and chairs. There is a fully equipped galley kitchen, a double bedroom with its own sitting room and en suite bathroom with showers and ancient frescoes on the ceiling, a double/twin bedroom with adjacent bathroom with half tub and a twin bedroom with en suite bathroom with shower on this floor. Another bathroom with shower on the ground floor is used by the double/twin bedroom on the mezzanine level.

First Floor
Here are three double bedrooms, a twin bedroom and three bathrooms with showers.

Outdoor Area
The living room leads out to a terrace with tables and chairs and incredible panoramic views of the Le Crete landscape of gently rolling hills, tall cypress trees and depending on the time of year fields of bright red poppies ( papaveri) and green wheat swaying in the gentle breeze, bright yellow fields of barley, wheat and rye, large straw bales or the turned red clay preparing for another planting. A double staircase leads down to a formal Italian garden with wonderful established trees that include tall palms, ornamental shrubbery, lemon and pomegranate trees. Along with the terrace, there are lovely shady areas to dine or relax as well as a sunny garden below for swimming and sunning. The swimming pool and manicured lawn are reached from the walkway and 5 short steps. These steps are gated and locked for small children's safety. The swimming pool is bordered by two stone walls on the long end of the pool, a gazebo and changing room on the far side of the pool which has a changing room with guest bath as well as tables and umbrellas and chairs to create a wonderful outdoor living area.
