Guest Reviews: TS5016 - Villa Contenta

Back to Property Details

Our families that were scattered around the world met at Villa Contenta for a family reunion. What a wonderful time we had. The outdoor space was perfect for us to spend long afternoons and evenings while the kids played in the pool, and the older ones walked to the coffee bar at the edge of town. It was ideal for our multi generation family, the proximity to the necessities given the village location, the ease of driving to /from Rome airport, the pool as the social headquarters during the day ant he nearby wineries and villages offered great experiences. The views from the yard really did make us feel as if we were in the countryside - you were right, the villa was special in that we lived in a quaint small hilltop village yet felt we were in the country. So very convenient! The restaurant in town was fantastic as well. WE WILL BE BACK

Hello, Patrice!
Just wanted to let you know (as I?m sure my dad already has) that our trip to Tuscany could not have been better! The villa was the most amazing place on earth and none of us wanted to come home. The pictures don?t do any justice for the view that we had. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the quaint little village La Contenta was located in and thank you so much for helping us find the place.

Patrizia! How dare you! You told us this house was prettier than the photos but we still had our mouths open when touring the house for the first time! okay, every day someone's jaw would drop! I remember walking through the door from the living room to the terrace and seeing that gorgeous panoramic view that seemed to be surreal. We just kept pinching ourselves, and one of the women in our group actually cried! My husband and I felt so "Italian" arriving home one afternoon from a short jaunt to the nearby towns and our friends were upstairs in their bedroom. When they heard us approaching, they hung out the window and we proceeded to have a conversation with them while standing on the street. Village life, Oh, How Lovely!
The house was so comfortable, and we loved the idea of being in a small village yet feeling that you were out in the countryside once you walked through the theshold. It was convnenient location to Pienza, Montepulcino, and many other interesting towns and so easy to come back to in the middle of the day to swim in that magnificent pool.
Thank you for suggesting this wonderful villa to us and all your advice and suggestions, our vacation could not have been better, thanks to you!

The villa was fantastic! I have to tell you that the photos did not do it justice, it was much more beautiful than we expected! It was a great convenience to be in this little village, we could shop for groceries, walk across the street for dinner, hit the bank on the way out in the mornings. It had everything we needed, yet it was tiny and characteristic.
The only problem we encountered was that we did not want to leave the house in the mornings to go sightseeing. We would all gather outside on the terrace, one by one in our houserobes and slippers and sip our coffee and gaze out to this magnificent panorama view that we thought could not be real, it was so beautiful it made some of us cry! It really is a special house, to walk out your front door and have a little charming Italian village and then walk out your back door and have the most beautiful country scenery at your feet was just surreal! The owner was so pleasant and accomodating, she met us when we arrived and showed us the house, then went back to her house in the city. She was always available if we needed her, but her caretaker Giuliano would stop by every day to see if we needed anything, he is so sweet! We had Nadia cook for us a few evenings, she is a great cook and we loved everything she prepared. We highly recommend hiring her for a few nights, but then again, you need to try the restaurant across the street! It was fantastic! The restaurant just installed an internet cafe ( one computer) and it really comes in handy! We all talk about our wonderful stay at Contenta and hope to go back soon.

The villa was lovely in all aspects, the interior spaces, the garden and pool area and the patoral views all while being located in a small village. It was so peaceful each night.
The location was great, close to San Quirico d'Orcia and Montisi were enjoyable as well as the proximity to Pienza.
Two of the showers were unpredictable, somtimes there was hot water and other times there was not. During a heavy rainstorm water came through the French doors in the dining room our last night. I must say that it was a very heavy storm, so we understand things like this could happen. We let the caretaker know what happened and that we think there was a blockage in the rain gutter and hopefully it was cleared. The kitchen could have been larger but we managed and were able to cook meals for the group.
