It's taken over 10 years and a creative imagination to restore the ruins of an ancient Tuscan farmhouse into a glorious luxury villa. Records show the property started out as a farm in the 14th century, the three story building housed the owners in the first and second floor, while the ground floors of the main building and the dependence housed the animals. You will find an original manger restored and placed exactly where it was when she acquired the farm, but now it holds magazines and is surrounded by beautiful furnishings in which is now the living room. You will recognize the attention to detail the moment you arrive, from carefully thought out gardens to the placement of furnishings, Richard Ginori porcelain place settings, crystal glassware from Casole d'Elsa, AEG appliances. Sanderson fabrics cover the personally designed furniture, and Frette bed linens and Martinelli hand wrought iron light fixtures are found in each bedroom. Even down to the brass hardware commissioned, by the owner from a bronzita (worker in bronze) whose family shop has been in Florence's Oltrano district for five centuries.
Perched on 2.5 hectares / 6 acres surrounded by gardens, you have panoramic views over the valleys and stretching out to the Colline Metallifere hills, the largest mountain range in the Anti-Appennines. While you have complete privacy surrounded by the bucolic countryside, you are just a five minute drive to the historic medieval walled village of Radicondoli where you can immerse yourself in the rich fabric of Italian life. The village has less than 1,000 residents making it easy to fit in to the rhythm a typical Italian day. Walk into town to the coffee bar where everyone starts their day. End it in the evening with a memorable meal at one of the trattorias. Restaurant owners embrace and are proud to be part of the KM 0 movement, short for Kilometer Zero. It is the king of farm-to-0 table, where the primary ingredients, including meat , grains, honey, cheeses and wines are sourced within the immediate area. You will dine among locals that most likely produced the food you are eating. It's not only the restaurant owners who are serious about KM 0, but also the residents that live in town. This picturesque village with cobblestone streets is known for its sense of community, food and sustainable lifestyle. They keep the tradition of maintaining Campos - a plot of land outside the city that consists of their own small olive groves, vineyards and vegetables, providing a self-sufficient lifestyle that has been handed down through generations. You will find in the community co op offering locally grown fruits and vegetables and an array of mushrooms and herbs from the nearby forests. This is the perfect area to have your villa cook teach you some authentic Tuscan dishes right in your own villa.
Radicondoli has a large music school where concerts and theater plays are held often. Located in what was originally a convent, it hosts a month long festival each August. There are many scenic footpaths for hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking offering opportunities to be spot pheasants, deer and boar. In town, there are the Renaissance paintings by ietro di Domenico and Casolani in the Medieval church of Santi Simone e Giuda

What to do from your villa
- Walk to town for your morning coffee, or evening gelato. Radicondoli is the typical walled town perched on a hilltop that you dream of. Only 1300 residents, it is large enough to offer coffee bars and great restaurants but small enough to be authentic with few tourists. - Celebrate a festival with your neighbors. Every May you can follow the town band that marches from house to house waking up the neighbors stopping for a snack and a glass of wine, or join them at the end of the day when the entire town turns out for a picnic in the park. Follow the procession of Santa Croce on May 3 each year. In June you can join in the bonfire for the feast of St John, or the Radicondoli Festival each summer with theater performances, concerts, poetry hikes, readings int eh forest and fair tales for kids. the Teatro dei Ristori is one of the smallest theaters in Europe, with only 67 seats is the gem of the town. In autumn they have chestnut and wine festivals - Easy day trips from the villa include visits to Montalcino, Pienza, Montepulciano, the Chianti hills, Siena, Florence, the beaches in the Maremma.
