This farmhouse has stood high on a hill for over 300 years, with magnificent views of the Val di Chiana valley. Elegant yet comfortable, a wonderful place to call home while in Tuscany.
The Val di Chiana area of the province of Siena is a valley between the hills that hold the counties of Chianciano, Sarteano and Montepluciano to the west, and the regions of Umbria and the Marches to the east. The lakes of Chiusi and Montepulciano are important to the area in terms of ecological and economical. A larger lake, on the border of Tuscany and Umbria, Lake Trasimeno, is not far from this area and is attributed to the mild climate and the variety of crops that can be grown. The valley is a checkerboard made up of fields of tobacco, vineyards, olives groves, corn and wheat. You will also pass by fields of grazing cattle, sheep and goats. This is the land of the Chianina cattle, those large T-Bone steaks grilled to perfection with olive oil, rosemary and lemon and recognized by that famous dish from another province, Florence, known as Bistecca Fiorentina. It is an area well known for its wine as well,Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, the first wine to be recognized as d.o.c. and Bianco Vergine Valdichiana, a delicious crisp white with a flavor of apples and tropical fruits.
What better place to call home for your vacation! This home is elegant and at the same time comfortable, a perfect place for large groups of friends or family members. Relax at home with a glass of one of many local and well known wines, enjoy the local Pecorino cheeses made from the sheep raised in the area, head out to one of the nearby spas that take advantage of the warm sulfur springs to fill their pools.
There is a lot to do in this corner of Tuscany, an abundance of quaint small towns, such as Sarteano, Sinalunga, Torrita di Siena, Trequanda and the spa town of San Casciano dei Bagni are wonderful to explore, not to forget the famous town of Montepulciano.
Florence, Rome and Assisi are 90 minutes by car,in 40 minutes you can be in Orvieto and the northern part of Lazio. This is very centrally located, but you'll find yourself staying close to home.

ACCOMMODATIONS

This stone farmhouse is comprised a two story house with attached tower ( first and second floors) and a two bedroom annex along side the tower.

GROUND FLOOR
Past the vegetable garden to the right is a set of steps that lead down to the lawns and into the house, or turn left past the vegetable garden to an outside covered terrace/dining area that has 2 tables seating a total of 24 guests. Wonderful views of the valley below along with the swimming pool can be seen from this location. From this outside terrace there is a set of double doors that take you to an inside dining room with a large table that seats up to 16 guests. This dining room has a large hearth style fireplace. To the right of the dining room is a large and fully equipped kitchen and beyond the kitchen a laundry room. On the other side of the dining room is a small set of steps down to a hallway with a bathroom with tub and wall mounted hand held shower on your left, and two more steps and you are in the Study/TV room. This room has a sofa bed that can sleep an additional guest, but be aware that you need to walk through the Study to the large living room with fireplace, or you can also enter teh living room through the two French doors, one leading to a second stone terrace and another to the lawns. Both with stunning views.

FLOOR
From the kitchen, there is a staircase that takes you to the first floor. You can also reach this floor from an external staircase from the parking area. At the landing, you will find a door in front of you that leads to the Tower twin bedroom which has a walk in closet that leads into the bathroom with tub and hand held shower. If you make a right at the top of the landing, you open a door to the Master Bedroom which includes a foyer that leads to a King bed with its own en suite bathroom with tub and separate shower stall.

UPPER TOWER
From the external stone staircase continue up to the second floor of the tower, which has a Queen bedroom with en suite bath with shower.

ANNEX
Attached to the house but with its two private entrances from the garden terraces are two connecting bedrooms. Enter the twin bedroom into a small foyer. To the right is the Twin bedroom that can be made into a King on request, in the back of the foyer is a small bathroom with tub and hand held shower. To the left of the foyer is a door to the Double bedroom. From this bedroom you have a hallway that leads to the private entrance and also by way of a few steps a bathroom with tub and hand held shower.
