Guest Reviews: R24 - Palazzo Romulus e Remus I

Back to Property Details

Dear Patrice, We had a blast in Rome. I wore them out being a tour guide but they saw all I wanted them to see. Walter was super and enjoyed his pecans. The location is freaking perfect to be a tourist. The girl at breakfast was so good to us with our coffee addiction that we left her a nice tip. The breakfast food was lovely.

Daniel who met us at the airport was awesome and adorable waiting for the bags which took forever to arrive on the luggage carousel. The ATM by 8 was perfect. Our driver whose name I can't pronounce (Dematrio????) was so nice and knowledgeable and utterly charming. Our guide, Francesca, was awesome. She gave us THE BEST orientation tour!!!! We have been walking around Rome like natives because she was amazing. I think we got a super tour!!! We were all thrilled and have been in three bookstores looking for her "magic book!" It was all very, very special!
We have been super tourists-since we arrived. The Coliseum and Forum were so wonderful today. We ate lunch in Travestre, did the campo dei fiori after lunch, and bought FABULOUS bags of pasta for presents back home. Dinner last night was super..had pasta right around the corner and loved the ravioli and dessert was to die for. . We walked to the top of the Paletine Hill and the jasmine was stunning as we're the views. Went to villa farnesina and palazzo corsini and got a private tour of the gardens which was spectacular!!!! I spent money on Via del Pellegrino. Will go back to one shop when the boys aren't foaming at the mouth with boredom.
Vatican and Villa borghese tomorrow.
Antonia called to check on us and Walter has been super.
A flower vendor gave me a bunch of peonies today and told me I was bellisimo. And we have not been pick pocketed!
Might wait for Florence to buy my nephew a leather jacket. We found a shop today but they had too many zippers
Tonight is a taxi to pantheon, dinner, Trevino fountain and piazza navona to eat a tarfulo at bar tre scaliini
Tourist Tip: Did you know that if you smile nice they let you use the toilets in the ache logical office at the Forum???? You potty by a bust of some god.
So much fun.
Hugs ______

We had a great time staying here, the apartment was AWESOME! In the past we have stayed at the Spanish Steps area but from now on, this will be the only place I will stay. The Spanish Steps area was so congested and chaotic that we found Palazzo Remulus apartments to be a retreat to come back. After a day of touring and crowds, it was a nice restful place where you can chill out.
It was so quiet and peaceful during the night, yet there were good restaurants right around the block. With small children the very cute and authentic Italian grocery store was well visited and we especially liked the daily morning bread delivery. Many mornings were were there when the baker arrived and just followed our noses!
Great restaurants and a very easy walk along the Tiber river to Trastevere was enjoyable both to and from dinner. We especially loved the Osteria da Olina in Trastevere, it was rustic home cooking, with a one page laminated menu and remarkable food. it was something you would expect to find in the countryside, not in a large city. Needless to say we ate there more than once. Having the concierge on call 24 hours a day was very comforting, especially traveling with mutiple families with small children.
I highly recommend staying at the PalazzoRemulus FANTASTICO!

What a wonderful place to stay while in Rome. We would come back in a heartbeat! Our three families rented three apartments which offered us our space but still staying together. We would meet every morning in the cafe downstairs for a scrumptious buffet breakfast and the teenagers would brin gtheir brewakfast back to one of the apartments so they can eat in their pajamas. The concierge service was very professional and were helpful in making dinner reservations for us.
It was a great area to base ourselves from, a nice 15 minute walk to the campo di Fiori. There are two great restaurants around the corner and a small grocery store where bread is delivered every morning that we found convenient. However, after a nice day of touring, we would find ourselves coming home to relax before dinner and walkin across the Tiber river to Trastevere which had many inexpenive trattorias. Our older teenagers would stay back in Trastevere after dinner to mingle with the Roman teenagers who gather on the square and we felt comfortable knowing they would easily find their way back to the apartment by simply walking along the Tiber - it was very safe and a pretty walk in the evening.
We had one of the best vacations and thank you Patrice for all your assistance with transfers to and from the apartment, lining up some great tour guides for us, and your list of restaurants. We have to come back just so we can check off the rest of the list!

Wow! We had a fantastic stay here. The apartment was remarkable! Comfortable, Classy, Chic...... Thanks for arranging transfer from the airport, it was convenient and helpful for us weary travelers with small children. The concierge desk was an added plus to our 'independent apartment stay', they were so helpful and even arranged dinner reservations and last minute tours. With two small children and a large extended family that joined us from other parts of the world, the complimentary buffet breakfast was a great way to start our day each morning and then head out to explore Rome. It was even more convenient on those days that started off slow - my husband went down to the cafe and brought breakfast back to the apartment. We loved the location! In under 15 minutes we were at the Campo de'Fiore and spent a few nights walking through Trastevere after dinner. On the nights we were too tired to go far for dinner, we walked down the street from the apartment and had our choice of three very good restaurants. Fresh bread was delivered every morning to the grocery store around the corner and we would eat proscuitto sandwiches on the afternoons we brought the kids home for a nap. Our stay was so enjoyable, it was the perfect place! Thanks so much for recommending it!
