Torre al Mare is an impressive pentagonal residence with multiple levels and staircases built into the rocks that jut out on its own promontory. Spread over a number of levels, connected by pathways, passages, corridors and hallways in a perfect balance with the natural environment. This allows a large group to enjoy both secluded an shared spaces having some privacy yet meeting together as well.

You arrive at the Torre by water taxi or private boat to your own private dock. Or you can chose the foot path from the Positano beach of Fornillo. Either way, once you arrive you then need to take the staircase to the private gate to three principle terraces plus a private descent on a narrow staircase to the sunny beach.

This tower dates back to a 13th century Norman guardian tower. Promontories were always chosen for its panoramic views. What was then important as a look out tower for invaders, now is coveted for its sensational panoramic views of the sea and coastline. Absolutely stunning day or night.

In 1909, well known architect and writer Gilbert Clavel was overwhelmed by the beauty of this location and its surroundings and knew this is where he would call home. Some of his interior furnishings still exist to this day. Pablo Picasso met his future wife Olga Kaklowa while staying here as his guest.

The villa spreads out among almost 5 acres of land, with three different dwellings connected by a series of open and closed paths and terraces. . The interiors are characterized by a fascinating variety of shapes and furnished with a delightful simplicity.

The villa has an excellent cook and the concierge caretaker is delightful and happy to assist you in experiencing an insider's view to his village of Positano and sharing all that the Amalfi coast has to offer.

Reached by water taxi, private boat or foot path from Positano, a private staircase will take you to multiple terraces and staircases that connect to Torre, Le Sirene and Porticato.

Lower Level: Secondary Kitchen yet fully equipped with 4 bruner gas stove, oven refrigerator, separate freezer and dishwasher. Walkway to beautiful terrace with handmade tiles from a mid 20th century artist that has works in museums around the world.
First Level: King / Twin Bedroom with yellow walls and blue accents has an suite bath with hand held shower, Views over Positano.

Second Level: Spacious living room with fireplace and antique glass tiles, mini bar for cold drinks, Sat SKY TV , CD player, lovely little balcony that looks out over the island of I Galli and large windows looking out over Positano, the coast and sea.

Third Level: Stairs lead up to a spacious Queen bedroom in light lemon yellow and turquoise tones. En suite bath with double sink and tub. Internal staircase leads to the rooftop terrace with 360 degree views.

LE SIRENE 2 bedrooms sleeps 3

First Level: Bright and spacious King/Twin bedroom with en suite bath with shower, windows facing the sea and Capri. The bookcases and desk were designed by the original owner .

Second Level: This single bedroom is an open concept, with en suite bath with shower that is separated from the sleeping area by a curtain. Windows looks out to Positano. The bedroom is called Diamonte for the diamond shaped ceiling the owner created to match the parquet floor. It is not air conditioned

Third Level: Living /dining room with windows that face the sea. Dining table seats four, living room area seats 5. Small kitchen with double sink, granite counters, stove, microwave, refrigerator and freezer.

Terrace: Spacious terrace with views out to the sea and the Amalfi coast. Teak dining table can accommodate 8.

PORTICATO 3 bedrooms sleeps 5

Lower Level: Magical, memorable views of Positano framed by an open staircase. Cozy living room with red and white cushions on wicker can accommodate six comfortably.
French doors and large windows open to the dining terrace with large wooden table to accommodate everyone for long lunches and dinners. A small corridor leads to the main Kitchen used only by the staff, with 5 burner gas stove, large refrigerator, separate freezer, dishwasher and microwave. Colorful ceramic tiles from nearby Vietri sul Mare and views of Positano. Adjacent to the kitchen is the staff's room with pantry and laundry room with washing machine and dryer.
Arched glass doors lead out to a terrace with retractable awnings and chaises, small table to accommodate six.

King/ Twin bedroom has screen doors that open out to the terrace and views of Positano shares a bathroom with tub and hand held shower with a single bedroom called the Library. This single bedroom has been recently restored but in following with the style of the original bedrooms, having the original antique parquet floor and Clave's original desk. French doors and windows look out over the terrace. King/Twin bedroom with en suite bath with shower is the only room that does not have views.
On this floor is a guest bath. The second guest bath is located outside, near the stairs leading to the beach.

Gardens

Torre Clavel sits on a rocky outcrop jutting into the turquoise sea and is reached only by water taxi, private boat to a private boat dock, or by foot path that crosses the beach to the private staircase entrance.
Staircase leads up to the upper terrace with a small outdoor gym with simple weight training equipment, another staircase leads down to a small public pebble beach. All beaches on the Amalfi Coast are public but since this beach is reached only by boat, it is normally very quiet.
There is a small bathroom with hot and cold shower located near the stairs leading to the beach.
