However, Tangerine is a gem tucked away on one of those tiny streets making this a quiet apartment in the evenings.
Best know of the colorful market of the same name, it is on everyones short list of things to see when in Rome. This neighborhood also has the Picoola Farnesina holding classical statues as well as the Palazzo Spada art museum. A short stroll south and in under 10 minutes, past the island on the Tiber and you will be in the Jewish Ghetto where daily life from past centuries still stand. Cross over the Tiber and you are in Trastevere, considered by their residents as the most authentic Romans. ( do you know to be considered a Roman you must be at least the 7th generation born in the Eternal City?) Trastevere is also known for their inexpensive and delicious trattorias, pizzerias, pastry and ice cream shops. Head north from Tangerine and again in under 10 minutes you will be in the Piazza Navona , further on you will come to Area Sacra - the remains of four temples that turn out to be among the oldest in the city and then just a little further The Spanish Steps! This cute apartment is located on a very small and quiet street just a few blocks from the Campo deFiori and the Tiber River.
GROUND FLOOR
A large wooden door from street level leads you into an open concept living room that consists of a sofa, dining table and a kitchenette fully equipped for making meals. This small but functional kitchen includes a stove top range, oven, dishwasher and refrigerator all allowing you to whip up a meal after shopping the nearby grocery store. The large heavy wooden front door can be left open during the day as you also have a double glass door surrounded by seven smaller windows, letting in lots of light to the apartment during the times you are home during the day.
FIRST FLOOR :
From the ground floor, there are three steps up to a landing with a large window offering the ground floor more natural light, and then an additional 10 steps leads upstairs to a very spacious queen bedroom with dresser and small desk and two large windows giving this room lots of light. This bedroom has a bathroom with a tiled shower with and a pull down seat. There is soft color theme throughout the apartment that is happy and light. The soft peach walls and blond wood floors are tastefully accented with tangerine and pink..
LOWER FLOOR :
A short staircase takes you down to the lower level where there are two single beds and a bathroom with shower. The same color scheme is carried through this room as well with accents of yellow and gray. The tile bathroom has a nice shower with double doors and grey tiles. While there are no windows in this bedroom, the color scheme and large space makes this a very comfortable room that is a delight to sleep in.
