You will recognize the view from Villa Allegra from the postcards you will see in every shop in Amalfi. One of the most picturesque stretches of the Amalfi Coast, as far as the Cape d'Orso and the bay of Salerno. Along the coastal road, leading from Amalfi, Positano and Sorrento, it is suitable for those who are looking for peace and tranquility without being 'off the beaten track' as Amalfi and all that it offers is under just 2 miles
ypical Amalfitan house with dreamy views of the Amalfi coastline and the horizon across the sea. The original footprint dates back to medieval times. An expanse of the Tyrrhenian sea' blue and green colors are visible from her terraces and gardens as well as the coast line that includes the whitewashed houses and terraced lemon groves of Amalfi.
This villa is a comfortable, welcoming home, available all season long. Its multiple levels and exterior staircase are the result of additions to the original 12th century storage and stables that are now the ground floor's barrel vaults. On the first floor, a lowered vault and the second floor's cross vault are from this same period. In those days it was a rural home to a small landowner of a village that no longer exists. During the Renaissance period, the tower was built to protect from Barbary pirates. The house had additions added in the 16th and 18th centuries.

ACCOMMODATIONS

From the villa's private parking lot, a staircase with 110 steps and three landings if you feel a need to rest and catch your breath take you the gated property. You enter into a well maintained garden, scattered with lawn chairs and chaises in the yard as well as under the pergola that protects you from the summer's sun.

GROUND FLOOR
From the garden, a small 12 step staircase takes you to the ground floor. Here you have a living room with wicker tables and armchairs, a large spacious dining/living room with solid wood table that seats 4 and a picture window that frames a fascinating view of the Amalfi coast. From the living room is the first bedroom, an en suite twin room that can be converted to a large Queen bed and has French doors leading to the back of the villa, (there are no views from this bedroom) A second bedroom is found on this floor, an en suite Queen bedroom with a built in armoire that has views from the window. Both bedrooms have their own thermostat to control the air conditioning/ heating to your liking, TV with Italian channels and the bathrooms are tiled in the local majolica of the area.

GARDEN TERRACE
Another staircase, this one has 30 steps, leads you from the main gate to the garden terrace with incredible views. This is the outdoor living area; the heated swimming pool commands beautiful views as well as the gardens and terraces. There are chaises for sun bathing as well as a terrace for dining al fresco. Part of the terrace is shaded by olive trees and large awnings. There is also a barbecue here and an outdoor shower.

FIRST FLOOR
From the garden you enter the main floor of the villa, into a small hallway. On your right is a fully equipped ultra modern eat – in kitchen with marble countertops, built in solid wood drawers. The kitchen windows look out on the rear of the villa, with garden views.
From the kitchen, the hallway leads to a comfortable living room with sea views and then to a large bathroom with Jacuzzi tub. Further down the hall is a spacious Twin/ Double bedroom with TV and access to the sea facing terrace.
On the left side of the villa, the hallway leads to a spacious Double bedroom with sea views and another smaller Double bedroom with views onto the rear of the villa (no sea views) These two bedrooms share the hall bathroom with pretty blue majolica printed tiles. At the end of the hallway the door opens out to the garden terrace.

ROOF TOP/SECOND FLOOR
This floor is reached by an external staircase (25 steps). At the top of the staircase is a very large terrace that enjoys the best views of the sea. There are many options to sit and take in the view, a pretty wrought iron cafe table, deck chairs, built in seating. Another outdoor shower is on this floor. A short staircase of 7 steps takes you down and you are in the villas attic room - a charming romantic accommodations. This little private retreat has a dining room with typical sloped attic ceiling with a small cafe table, two sofas and a small corner kitchenette. The Twin/ Double bedroom is furnished with antique furnishings and the windows looks down into the garden. The bathroom has a small shower. Please note that this is the attic and the ceilings do slope!
