Le Terraglie is a newly restored home with a private beach and a panoramic swimming pool at the water's edge on the eastern side of Lake Maggiore. Please note that according to Italian law, private beaches may be accessed by other boats from the lake. It is situated only a short walk from the ferry launch, where it is possible to catch the ferry to the western side of the lake (Stresa, Pallanza etc.) and to the Borromeo Islands famous for their enchanted beauty. Located at the end of a lane, Le Terraglie is very quiet with spectacular views and only a fifteen minute walk from the center of the little town of Laveno. Here you will find supermarkets, banks, the post office, pharmacy, restaurants and shops. From Laveno it is possible to reach Milan by train in less than an hour. Angera with its Borromeo Castle is a 30 minutes drive as well as the romantic Sanctuary of Santa Caterina del Sasso. All sorts of water sports are possible in this area and the gondola which takes you to the top of the hill above Laveno is a short walk from the house.
Built in 1930 for a well known Italian family, Le Terraglie is spacious and full of atmosphere. The interiors are Italian classical style with marble tables and decorated walls. Most rooms overlook the lake and on the ground floor of the house, the rooms have direct access to the terraces and gardens. Le Terraglie has spacious park-like gardens, a few footpaths to stroll around and enjoy the view from several locations and a private beach with a boathouse. From the garden a path (about 150 stone steps and fairly steep) leads down to the lake and the rocky beach.

Main House - Sleeps 10*
Ground Floor: Spacious living room with a marble fireplace and French doors opening to the garden, fully equipped kitchen with a table seating twelve, a dining room for six guests, a double bedroom with direct entrance to a terrace and gardens through French doors, an adjacent bathroom with bathtub, a single bedroom, a small bedroom with a crib and another bathroom with shower complete this floor. The laundry room with washer and dryer is accessible from the garden.
First Floor: Twenty-one steps lead to the first floor where there is a double bedroom with adjacent bathroom with double sink and bathtub, a double bedroom, a single bedroom and a bathroom with shower. All bedrooms have French doors opening to the large terraces.
Second Floor: A narrow (60cm) stairway takes you to the second floor with a twin bedroom and two bathrooms, one with shower and one with tub. There is a Double Bedroom also on this floor, that can be rented only on approval by the owner and at an addtional charge. The furnishings on this floor are quite simple.

Cottage - Sleeps 4
The cottage was orignally the Guard's House, and is situated at the entrance to the property. It has a living/dining room and a kitchen with refrigerator, oven, microwave, stove and dishwasher, a double bedroom, a bedroom with bunk beds (perfect for two children) and a shared bathroom with shower.
