This magnificent villa was once the summer residence of the famous Medici family who built it to escape the heat of the city and 500 years later it is still used as a retreat for another wonderful Florentine family who raised their now grown children here. The house ensures complete privacy, with a tall stone wall and gated entrance. The serene grounds are surrounded with stately pine trees over 100 feet tall and there is a large terrace overlooking the Mugello valley.
The 58 foot x 25 foot swimming pool is situated on a lower terrace with an expansive view of rolling landscapes.
When you enter the house, you realize just how special this place you will call home is. Each room is a treasure in itself, beautifully restored in all its splendor with vaulted ceilings, tiled floors and massive staircases. All kingsized bedrooms are luxuriously decorated and includes personal amenities such as bath soaps and shampoos. You will be amazed at the size of the closets, some are larger than 10 x 10 with large windows.
The villa is located in the Mugello area just 16 miles north of Florence, amid a beautiful landscape of wooded hills rising above cultivated valleys. The nearby towns of Borgo San Lorenzo, San Peiro a Sieve and Scarperia offer interesting sightseeing ventures. Nature trails, horseback riding and a newly built manmade lake are a short distance from the villa and offer lots of outdoor activities. You are close enough for day trips to Bologna, Parma, Modena, Florence, Pisa or Lucca. Chianti, Siena, Cortona and Arezzo can be reached in an hour yet you return home to the peace and quiet of Italian life that seems far from the tourists and crowds.
