The owner went to great lengths to create the perfect home, starting with choosing the 50 acres it sits on and placing the house in the right position for the best views. This includes a spectacular view of the spa town of San Casciano dei Bagni, famous for its hot springs and mud baths since Roman times and the panoramic views of Radicofani and the mountains of Amiata and Cetona. And that's just for starters. The original owner was an interior and landscape designer and paid special attention to every detail which you will appreciate from the moment you arrive through two private gated entrances. Medieval gardens, the large heated pool with covered terrace, and the exquisite choice of furnishings in the home give all who enter a sense of well being and peace. In fact, you will find it hard to leave the villa for sightseeing trips, even though it is easy day trips to Siena, Orvieto and all the quaint ancient towns of the Val d'Ocia. This is the beautiful valley of the Orcia river, where these well preserved villages, castles and thermal baths in the foothills of Monte Amiata will be your charming neighborhood. Trains leave the nearby town of Chuisi for Florence every half hour and the A1 autostrada is less than ten miles from your home.

Enter into the foyer and continue on into the spacious living room with fireplace and comfortable furniture where it is easy to relax with a CD on the stereo or catch up with the news on the satellite TV. There is also an antique desk for those of you who need to keep in touch with the office, hopefully with a glass of wine if you must. French doors lead out to the terrace and down to the swimming pool. The separate dining room has two antique wood tables that can be put together to accommodate a total of fourteen guests. French doors lead out to the lawn and gardens. A beautiful and large kitchen has a working fireplace alongside a banquette that can accommodate up to eight guests - perfect for breakfast, snacks or as the designated children's table at dinner time. Doors lead out to the terrace and dining table, and an archway to the dining room. There are two windows looking out to the formal gardens and a doorway that leads to the parking area. A large en suite master bedroom with windows facing the gardens on one side and French doors that lead out to the pool on another. The en suite bathroom has both a tub and shower stall and the bedroom is air conditioned. A twin bedroom is further down the hall where there is also a full bathroom with tub.
Take the steps to the first floor and you have a Queen bedroom suite with an antique desk for writing your postcards home. Large windows look out over the panoramic views. The en suite bathroom has a tub. A single bedroom has a beautiful antique French sleigh bed. It opens to a private terrace with views of the Amiata and Cetona mountains. The en suite bathroom that overlooks the medieval gardens has a tub. Further down the hallway is a queen bedroom and another twin bedroom that share a bathroom with tub.
The basement has a laundry room with washer and dryer, and a small simple twin bedroom ( cannot be joined ) with a skylight and en suite bathroom with shower. This room does not have air conditioning and is available only on request. The villa is surrounded by beautiful landscaped grounds and makes the most of it with its many terraces making it ideal for dining or just relaxing. If you want to completely relax, your villa cook will serve dinner pool side, terrace or dining room
The villa Francesco is just five minutes from the village of San Casciano dei Bagni and the famous Fonteverde spa. Short day trips to Cetona, Montepulciano and Montalcino as wella s FLorence, Siena and Arezzo will have you home in time for dinner.
