Two and a half hectares of landscaped gardens and winding paths surround two historic nineteenth century villas, poised in a serene location on the southwestern shores of Lake Como. The celebrated ballet dancer Maria Taglioni owned and restored the villas in the early nineteenth century, welcoming guests including Bellini, Rossini and Franz Lizst. The artistic flair of the property during this period has been re-created by the current owners who have lavished some 20 years of work redeveloping the estate. Today, the property incorporates state-of-the-art infrastructure - full air-conditioning and radiant heat, thirteen individual guest rooms, two swimming pools, private dock and two self-drive boats and underground parking. Within the manicured grounds, a heated lakeside swimming pool on the upper lawn boasts memorable views, and is complemented by a hillside pool and a large sun terrace. Al fresco dining can be enjoyed on the shores of the lake on the lower terrace, or under the shade of the pergola on the upper terrace. Importantly, the estate is below the road and west-facing with delightful sunset views. This southern arm of the lake is the most exclusive and the most in demand among the Milanese and other European aristocrats who spend long weekends and entire summers here. Cernobbio and the celebrated Villa d'Este, under ten minutes by boat from Ville del Lago, has remained the epicentre of Lake Como charm for visitors year after year. The village above offers a short walk to an excellent lakeside restaurant, as well as access to Blevio's municipal tennis courts. For many visitors, the charter of a private Venetian Taxi transforms their stay; the freedom and control of coming and going at leisure is an utterly rewarding way to appreciate the characteristic lakeside liveliness of Lake Como. The mountains are another experience entirely. Dotted with chapels, refugios and occasional farms, spending your days up in these hills - walking and admiring and feeling on top of the world - is excellent preparation for an afternoon swim in the lakeside pool back at the villa before your apperitivi are served.

Over six acres of parkland surrounds the two villas the drive down ensures privacy

2 swimming pools on the estate. The first is lakeside with a large terrace and is heated, the second one is a lap pool on the hillside, and is not heated.
The villas are 440 yards from the entrance from lake road so you won't hear cars passing by
Lakeside terrace on the lower terrace and a shaded pergola on the upper terrace are wonderful for having all your meals while you watch the sun set over the lake.
